Primary Health Care
After over 125 years’ experience in the delivery of humanitarian and ambulance services in Western Australia, St John WA now delivers a primary health care service for the community. A key part of this service is to offer patients another bulk-billed pathway to urgent care that is safe, timely and high quality.
By facilitating and providing primary health care, St John WA is able to incorporate ambulance and primary health care into one service for unscheduled care requirements. This provides another safe and timely pathway into the health care system for people in need.
How is St John WA doing this?
St John WA operates four primary health clinics across the metro area located in Armadale, Cannington, Cockburn and Joondalup. These facilities are state of the art and offer a range of combined health solutions including general practice, dental, physiotherapy and podiatry.
St John Urgent Care Centres allow for patients with non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses to be seen by a doctor and receive the most appropriate care without the need to attend an emergency department. These centres are currently operating at the Armadale, Joondalup and Cockburn clinics. X-rays, pathology and follow-up treatments such as plaster, urgent dental and stitches are all available onsite.
