To comply with the introduction of the SafeWA program, you’ll find an accessible QR code for scanning with the SafeWA App upon entering our training centres. If you don’t have the app, you’ll be able to complete a contact register at reception.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, we’ve made some changes to the way we deliver our first aid training.
To ensure our training meets COVID-19 public health guidelines - and with your safety in mind - we’ve adjusted the way we conduct face-to-face sessions.
We’ll be screening all students prior to attending class, including asking the following questions:
The trainer will ask all students these questions on the day of the course. If your response is yes to any of the above you will not be admitted to the class and will need to phone our call centre to reschedule your training. We may also take your temperature.
Students will be taught, and required to follow, correct hand washing procedures before and during the class. All resources used for training will be thoroughly cleaned at the end of each session.
We’ll issue all students with their own resources necessary to conduct all assessments. There will be no sharing of manikins or other equipment during the session. All equipment used will be cleaned at the end of each session following clinical recommendations.
The number of students per class has been reduced to ensure each participant has a minimum of two square metres to maintain correct physical distancing requirements during training. There will be no contact with other students required at any time to complete assessments. Additional manikins will be provided for assessment of any activities that have previously required students to work with partners. Please note class availability will vary across our training centres.
Help us help your family.
By using our clinics for general medical check-ups or dentist appointments, and our urgent care centres for non-life threatening emergencies, you'll help St John as well as your family. We assisted 269,537 people at our centres & clinics last year alone.
We even have a handy Emergency Room time feature available on the First Responder App that helps you to locate the nearest medical centres and emergency departments including live ED waiting time information.
