Your students can learn life saving skills in 15 minutes

Accidents can happen at any time and sometimes the only person available to help is a young person. St John Ambulance offers FREE first aid assembly presentations at schools so students can learn what to do if they are faced with a first aid emergency.

The demonstrations are approximately 15 minutes long and aim to equip students with the skills to assess and respond to specific first aid situations. They are delivered by our experienced Community Education Officers who have Working with Children Checks. All the school needs to provide is a computer, projector and a screen.

Schools can select from the following free 15 minute assembly presentations:

  • Sprains and Strains
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Snake Bites
  • Allergic Reaction
  • Electric Shock
  • Spinal Injuries
  • Choking

FREE Road Trauma First Aid Training for Students

In 2018, a total of 158 road fatalities occurred in WA alone. Some of these lives may have been saved if bystanders knew basic first aid.

It’s especially important that new drivers know what to do if they are involved in a road trauma incident. A 17 year old driver is 4 times more likely to be involved in a fatal car crash than a driver over the age of 25.

St John WA runs FREE Road Trauma first aid training for high school students. Your students can learn some lifesaving skills in a 50 minute presentation.
