First Aid Training during COVID-19  

We are now providing first aid training for selected courses. All face to face classroom assessments have a reduced number of students to ensure sufficient space to adhere to physical distancing requirements. St John WA maintains strict hygiene control and practices.

If you were enrolled in a Perth metro class that has been cancelled or you have a requirement for essential first aid training, please contact our call centre on 9334 1233 from 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday to discuss options, or email firstaid@stjohnwa.com.au. For new bookings, please book from the available classes. Regional training is coming soon.

Provide first aid - 1 day

HLTAID003 Provide first aid

Modified delivery method to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. You must arrive 15 minutes prior to class start time for screening and hygiene procedures.


The one day Provide First Aid course would benefit all those at work, home or for leisure. The course provides an excellent general grounding in first aid and will enable you to perform appropriate first aid procedures and basic life support skills. This unit satisfies training requirements across a range of community and workplace settings.

Completion of online learning must be done prior to arrival at the class.

Low voltage rescue and Provide CPR

This course covers the performance of rescue procedures from live low voltage (LV) apparatus. It includes responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels, adherence to safety practices and how to provide CPR to a non-responsive casualty.

This course includes online learning and practical training and assessment. Completion of online learning must be done prior to arrival at the class.

Provide a first aid response in an education and care setting

HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults and specifically applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting. This unit of competency satisfies the requirement set for approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training for child carers and educators.

This course includes online learning and 1 day of practical training and assessment. Completion of online learning is required prior to arrival at the class.

First Aid for Mental Health

Providing first aid for mental health is just as important as being able to provide regular first aid, and it is the crucial first step in the process before the person is referred on to a professional to continue that care.

St John's First Aid for Mental Health course has been designed to cover all of this and equip you with the skills to be able to have relevant conversations and provide that immediate first aid care until you can help direct the person to the professional assistance they require.

Anaphylaxis first aid

A nationally accredited anaphylaxis course that addresses the provision of care to adults and children who are diagnosed as being at risk of anaphylaxis or displaying signs or symptoms of anaphylaxis.

Asthma first aid and risk management
