Course Overview
The First Aid for Mental Health course gives you the skills to respond to common mental health concerns in the workplace and in everyday life.
The course focuses on understanding mental health, recognising the signs and symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and suicidal behaviour, and developing the confidence to provide support from a first aid perspective.
You’ll learn to identify when someone may need support, communicate effectively, give initial assistance and understand when professional help may be required. The course also explores strategies for looking after your own mental health and wellbeing.
This course focuses on common mental health concerns, rather than more severe and persistent mental illnesses like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.
